Two recent publications, developed in partnership with collaborators from Huddle NorWest and Aire ouverte Métro Berri, have been published in Healthcare Quarterly, a journal focused on healthcare policy, management, and system innovation.

The first article, “A Journey of Integrating Indigenous Ways of Knowing in an Urban Integrated Youth Service in Manitoba”, explores how Indigenous ways of knowing and being can be meaningfully integrated into youth services, emphasizing culturally safe care and community-informed practices.

The second article, “Advancing Integrated Care for Youth: The Role of Family Physicians in an Urban, Multidisciplinary Service”, presents a case study of Aire ouverte Montréal, Métro Berri, highlighting the integration of family physicians in multidisciplinary youth mental health services and their role in supporting coordinated and accessible care. A french version of this article is available here.

Together, these publications contribute to ongoing work on improving youth mental health services through integrated, inclusive, and context-responsive approaches.

McGill University and the Douglas Research Centre are on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the traditional territory of the Kanien'kehá:ka, one of the founding nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. We respect the continued connections with the past, present and future in our ongoing relationships with Indigenous and other peoples within Tiohtià:ke/Montréal and across the country.
