In August, Srividya Iyer joined CTV News Montreal and CTV News Winnipeg to discuss the growing demand for youth mental health support and the increase in young people reaching out to services such as Kids Help Phone as well as their text lines at night.

In the two interviews, Srividya Iyer provided context around these trends and help-seeking behaviours, discussing what they tell us about the current state of youth mental health in Canada. She also reflected on the challenges young people face when seeking support.

McGill University and the Douglas Research Centre are on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the traditional territory of the Kanien'kehá:ka, one of the founding nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. We respect the continued connections with the past, present and future in our ongoing relationships with Indigenous and other peoples within Tiohtià:ke/Montréal and across the country.
