On the 19th of March 2026, Srividya Iyer participated in the Outlive Youth Action for Suicide Prevention (YASP) Fellowship Dialogues. The panel discussion, titled “How can young people lead policy change for suicide prevention?”, brought together YASP fellows and international experts to explore how youth engagement can inform more effective, equitable, and context-responsive suicide prevention strategies. This event was organized by Outlive in collaboration with the Centre for Mental Health Law & Policy (CMHLP) and partners supporting youth engagement in mental health.

The session featured speakers from research, policy, and community sectors, including: Rohini Pradhan (Government of Sikkim), Shraddha Chickerur (UNESCO), Hannah Stewart (Generation Mental Health, UTHealth Houston), Arjun Kapoor (Centre for Mental Health Law & Policy, moderator). The event also included contributions from YASP Fellows, Manas Joshi (The Akankasha Foundation) and Munazah Shakeel (Urban researcher and multimedia storyteller).

McGill University and the Douglas Research Centre are on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the traditional territory of the Kanien'kehá:ka, one of the founding nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. We respect the continued connections with the past, present and future in our ongoing relationships with Indigenous and other peoples within Tiohtià:ke/Montréal and across the country.
