Led by Professor Swaran Singh at the University of Warwick, the group brings together partners in Schizophrenia Research Foundation, Chennai (South India); All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (North India); University of Warwick; and McGill University (including Professor Iyer). It built on the work of Iyer’s early psychosis India-Canada collaboration.

The group’s work focuses on (1) developing and evaluating evidence-informed care for early psychosis; (2) studying pathways of care for early psychosis; (3) investigating the economic burden of psychosis for persons with psychosis and their families and the cost-effectiveness of community care models for psychosis; (4) developing strategies to identify and reduce the burden of mental illnesses among youth (5) explore novel interventions that leverage digital technologies and co-design methodologies.

The group also collaborates with the World Psychiatric Association’s Expert International Advisory Panel for Early Intervention in Psychosis in Low- and Middle-Income Countries to move practice, policy and research in early intervention in psychiatry across the globe. Professor Iyer is part of this panel.
