Lina Valeria Cuadrado Pardo

(she/her)
MSc Student
MD & MSc in Community Mental Health

Lina (she/her) is a medical doctor from Colombia with a MSc in Community Mental Health and a current MSc student in Global Health at McMaster University. As a proud Latina, her academic and professional journey is deeply rooted in her heritage and driven by a commitment to bringing Global South perspectives into mental health research and practice. With over five years of experience, Lina brings a holistic background that spans clinical practice and community fieldwork in Colombia, Canada, India, Peru, and the USA. She is passionate about research, project formulation, and the implementation of culturally grounded mental health initiatives. Currently, Lina is completing a research practicum in Dr. Iyer's lab at the Douglas Research Centre, where she contributes to quantitative analyses within the ACCESS Open Minds project and supports another project on AI-enabled mental health interventions in youth services. A lifelong learner, Lina is endlessly curious and, outside of work, can be found at the gym, dancing to Hispanic music, or exploring cultural events with great food and community.

McGill University and the Douglas Research Centre are on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the traditional territory of the Kanien'kehá:ka, one of the founding nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. We respect the continued connections with the past, present and future in our ongoing relationships with Indigenous and other peoples within Tiohtià:ke/Montréal and across the country.
