Nora Morrison

(she/her)
PhD Student
BSc in Health Sciences

Nora is a second-year master’s student who is working on her thesis under the supervision of Dr. Iyer. She is evaluating whether social/clinical factors are associated with the use of self-referral pathways and if these pathways impact wait-times among young people presenting to ACCESS Open Minds sites. She also supports other projects in the lab as a research assistant. Nora is very passionate about improving mental health services for youth, which in part comes from her own experiences navigating the system. This passion has driven her research interests and is what encouraged her to get involved with the team. She has really enjoyed her role and hopes to work as a psychiatric epidemiologist in the future. Nora also enjoys hiking, dancing, board games and painting.

McGill University and the Douglas Research Centre are on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the traditional territory of the Kanien'kehá:ka, one of the founding nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. We respect the continued connections with the past, present and future in our ongoing relationships with Indigenous and other peoples within Tiohtià:ke/Montréal and across the country.
