Anya Valimahomed

(she/her)
Undergraduate student
BA in Psychology

Anya is a third-year undergraduate student at McGill University, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Behavioural Science and South Asian Studies. She was inspired to join the Youth Mental Health Collective as she wants to be a psychologist who works with immigrant youth. Additionally she hopes to learn how to approach the future of mental health for marginalised communities in a sustainable and ethical manner. In her free time Anya enjoys discovering new places in Montreal, trying new sports and water colouring with friends.

McGill University and the Douglas Research Centre are on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the traditional territory of the Kanien'kehá:ka, one of the founding nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. We respect the continued connections with the past, present and future in our ongoing relationships with Indigenous and other peoples within Tiohtià:ke/Montréal and across the country.
