Vladislav Covnatchii

Vladislav is a third-year student in the Honors Bachelor’s program in psychology at McGill University. Having immigrated at a young age, he is particularly interested in the mental health of adolescents and young adults, especially first- and second-generation immigrants. He is also interested in the mental health of people from diverse gender backgrounds.

His background in social psychology has led him to focus on the attitudes, biases, and social factors that can influence mental health and contribute to inequalities in this area. Over the past year, he has notably conducted a research project examining the evolution of Americans’ attitudes toward transgender people between 2020 and 2025. More broadly, he is interested in how social experiences and public policies can influence young people’s mental health, particularly among those who face greater barriers or marginalization.

Currently, Vladislav is contributing to research aimed at better understanding how to meet young people’s mental health needs within the context of learning health systems in Quebec.

Outside of research, Vladislav enjoys reading, discovering new films, and spending time with friends and family.
